We are a small team! Please allow 1-3 weeks at minimum for us to confirm your manuscript and we will provide you with a response as to whether or not it will be accepted for this issue by June 20, 2024 or sooner.

Deadline to submit for Issue #1: June 15, 2024

If your work is not accepted, you are free to re-submit it for another issue. We may not provide a specific reason for rejection, though it is likely due to incongruence with the theme or magazine genre, length, quality of information/misinformation/lack of citations, quality of writing, or a similar reason.

Should your work be accepted, we will contact you if any changes need to be made to polish it and/or help it conform more completely to the magazine. We will also provide you with more information of what steps to take next and how we can work together.

Donations will help us cover the cost of WordPress (website hosting, maintenance) and the design tools (Canva Pro) we will use to create the magazine. Anything given above that base cost of $230 USD will go into the next year’s fees or into marketing so we can have our magazine reach a wider audience. Thank you for helping us and allowing us to become sustainable!

The theme for our inaugural issue is BECOMING.

Seeking to publish in Issue #1? We encourage you to submit works that follow the theme literally or creatively, expanding on what its definition could mean and how it can be applied to multiple concepts, activities, schools of thought, and people. Not sure what to write? Check our Google Doc with topic ideas to get inspired.

If you are a reader looking forward to Issue #1, we invite you to subscribe and think about what becoming means to you. Food for thought: how it might be “becoming” be applied to your path in the time before the we publish? Share your thoughts with us!
