Poetry Guidelines

We accept any style of poem, with a maximum length of 1 page. Please accompany your poem manuscript with a short explanation of the inspiration behind it and what it aims to share.

Article Guidelines

We accept op-ed pieces, literature review pieces, case study pieces, research pieces, personal reflection pieces, informational pieces, and similar articles ranging from 700-850 words or more. All articles should be focused on one topic, clear in organization, and contain supportive context or arguments where necessary. Articles must include works cited in text and a Works Cited section in MLA format. Figures, tables, or graphics should be provided at the end in an appendix. Articles should not be or contain advertisement information; businesses or services can be mentioned if relevant to the subject matter but not promoted.

We are a small team! Due to the volume of submissions, we may not be able to reach out directly if your piece is not a good fit for this issue, although we aim to reply to everyone. If you do not hear from us by the month of issue publication, your piece was not accepted for this particular issue.

Not all pieces are a good fit for a particular issue. That being said, what you’ve written may still resonate deeply with us. In that case, we may reach out offering to feature your piece in our premiere LinkedIn newsletter, Epiphany Muses.

If your work is not accepted, you are free to re-submit it for another issue. We may not provide a specific reason for rejection, though it is likely due to incongruence with the theme or magazine genre, length, quality of information, misinformation, lack of citations, quality of writing, or a similar reason.

We look forward to receiving your submissions and establishing a magazine worth reading together.

Submit your work in PDF or Word Document to emergentepiphanymagazine@gmail.com and join us on this enlightening journey!

Editorial Process & Details

At Emergent Epiphany Magazine, our commitment to quality and inclusivity means we approach every submission with the utmost care and attention, whether from seasoned writers or those just starting out. Each piece submitted will undergo a thorough copyediting and ghost-editing process, involving multiple drafts to ensure it meets our editorial standards. This iterative review is a normal and essential part of our process, aiming to refine and elevate your work to its best possible version before final approval and suitability for a literary magazine format.

We believe in treating all writers equally, offering constructive feedback and professional guidance throughout the editing journey. Our goal is to nurture talent and help your voice shine through, regardless of your experience level.

However, acceptance of your piece initially does not guarantee publication. After our comprehensive editing process, we reserve the right to decide if a piece will ultimately be included in the magazine. Writers are welcome to withdraw their submissions at any stage, and we assure you that once a piece is withdrawn, it will be permanently deleted from our records, respecting your wishes and allowing you to move forward with confidence.

Additionally, we maintain a strict policy on discourse and interaction. We are dedicated to creating an inclusive and encouraging environment. If a writer engages in inappropriate or abusive behavior (including inflammatory, disrepectful, and ill-intentioned dialogue) during discussions with our team, we reserve the right to reject their submission, even after editing. In this case, we will not continue conversation with you and follow the same procedure of deleting your submissions so that your privacy as a writer is maintained.

Our magazine is a labor of love, run by a passionate team of unpaid volunteers, and is free to submit to and read. We expect mutual respect and politeness in all interactions to maintain the positive and supportive community we strive to foster.

Thank you for considering Emergent Epiphany Magazine as a platform for your work. We look forward to collaborating with you and bringing your unique stories to our readers.
